Sunday 20th July

Castleford hosted the Inter District Matches (sponsored by The Skipton Building Society)
when ten districts took part.
The First rounds were at varios venues in the Castleford area but Cas. were the winners at their venue.
In the semi-finals, both held at Savile Pk., Cas again were victorious, and in the final held at Pontefract B.C. Castleford beat the West Riding.
A truly superb team performance led by a brilliant Captain Robert Lloyd and inspired by a fantastic team of officials and supporters.
The trophy and cheque were presented by the President of Y.C.C.G.B.A., Mr Alan Sharpe.
